‘Euphoria’ Season 3 teaser hints at Rue’s drug debt crisis ahead of trailer release

HBO has confirmed that the series will premiere in April 2026 on HBO and Max though an exact is yet to be announced

A newly released teaser for Euphoria Season 3 has brought the HBO drama back into focus, reigniting interest ahead of the official trailer reveal expected today.

The brief clip picks up directly from one of the show’s most unresolved storylines, reminding viewers of the consequences still facing its central character, Rue Bennett.

The teaser revisits the moment when Rue stole drugs from dealer Laurie, played by Martha Kelly, during season two. Accompanied by the caption “The devil always collects”, the footage signals that the debt storyline has not been forgotten, setting a darker tone for the long-awaited return. It is the first substantial preview since production wrapped last year and arrives after multiple delays.

Season 3 has faced significant setbacks, including industry strikes and the death of Angus Cloud, who portrayed Fezco. The new season is expected to include a tribute to Cloud’s character. Despite these challenges, HBO has confirmed that the series will premiere in April 2026 on HBO and Max.

Set five years after the events of season 2, the upcoming episodes will explore the characters as they move further into adulthood. Rue’s struggles with addiction remain central, while new developments include Cassie and Nate’s marriage. Zendaya returns alongside Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi and Alexa Demie. New cast members include Rosalía and Danielle Deadwyler, adding fresh dynamics to the ensemble.

Not all familiar faces will return. Barbie Ferreira and Storm Reid are absent from the new season, marking a shift in the show’s focus and character balance. Creator Sam Levinson has described season three as the strongest instalment yet, suggesting a more reflective and consequential chapter.

With the teaser offering only a brief glimpse, anticipation is now centred on the full trailer, which is expected to provide greater clarity on how Euphoria will resolve its lingering cliffhangers after four years off screen.
