The District Education Authority (DEA) Lahore has taken strict action against private schools found operating during the winter vacation, sealing several institutions and warning that violations of the official holiday schedule will not be tolerated.

According to education officials, Oxford Grammar School Shahdara and Tehzeeb-ul-Islam School on Bedian Road were sealed after reopening during the holiday period. Umm-ul-Huda School in Sabzazar was also shut down for the same violation. Authorities issued firm warnings to school administrations, cautioning against any attempt to resume classes before the permitted date.

A DEA official stated,

“Any private school found operating during winter holidays will be sealed immediately without notice.”

The crackdown is part of ongoing efforts by the education department to ensure uniform implementation of government notifications and protect students’ right to officially announced breaks. In the past, complaints from parents about schools reopening early prompted authorities to tighten monitoring during vacation periods.

DEA Lahore reiterated that all schools will reopen on January 12, strictly in line with the official notification. Officials confirmed that inspections will continue across the city to deter further violations.
