Hailey Bieber’s recent Instagram post shared at the start of the new year has prompted renewed discussion among fans about the timeline of her relationship with husband Justin Bieber, including his past involvement with Selena Gomez.

On January 1, 2026, Hailey posted a photograph showing herself kissing Justin, accompanied by the caption, “10 New Years together and counting.”

The image, which appears to have been taken several years ago, shows Justin wearing a black baseball cap, a blue short-sleeve button-down shirt and a white undershirt, while Hailey is dressed in a white cropped T-shirt and denim shorts. The post quickly attracted widespread attention online.

While some followers viewed the image as a nostalgic moment from the couple, others questioned the accuracy of the timeline implied by the caption. On social media, users revisited Justin Bieber’s past relationships, particularly his on-and-off romance with Selena Gomez. 

Further comments focused on the period after the photograph was believed to have been taken. One post stated, “He was literally with Selena after this picture was taken…. What, 10 years???” Another user added, “The way she always tries to rewrite history is hilarious. It can’t be 10 years since he was still on and off with Selena for 3 years after this pic was taken.”

However, some users defended Hailey, suggesting the caption referred to the anniversary of the photograph rather than a continuous relationship. 

Justin and Hailey first met as teenagers after being introduced by her father, Stephen Baldwin. Justin later confirmed his engagement to Hailey on July 10, 2018. The couple married later that year and welcomed a son in August 2024.
