Cardi B speaks out against critics targeting her relationship with Stefon Diggs
Cardi B addressed online criticism of her relationship, urging fans to stop being “mean” and let her move forward
Cardi B has responded directly to fans who have criticised her relationship with NFL player Stefon Diggs, saying the backlash has gone too far and urging supporters to show understanding rather than judgement.
The rapper posted a video on X on Monday in which she said some fans had been “a little bit too mean” and had been “dragging” her for several days. Addressing the criticism head-on, she told viewers, “Y’all need to calm down,” before questioning whether her audience was “OK”.
“I can’t change sh*t. I can’t go back in time,” Cardi said in the video. “I already had a baby. Y’all want me to put my baby back in my p***y?” She added that she could only move forward following the birth of her son.
The 33-year-old Grammy winner and the New England Patriots wide receiver welcomed a baby boy on November 4. Cardi said she was focused on what lies ahead rather than revisiting past decisions. “You want me to leave my man and f**k yours? What y’all want me to do?” she asked.
Cardi also spoke about the pressures she is currently facing, noting that she is preparing for an upcoming tour and feeling “super stressed out”. She said she needed support from her fanbase, explaining, “I need my support system, my fans, to love me. I want y’all to come to my tour and enjoy yourselves with me.”
She ended her message by telling fans, “Don’t be dragging me. That’s enough! Alright? It’s enough!” before wishing them “health, money, prosperity [and] happiness” for the new year and asking for the same in return.
Speculation about the couple’s relationship surfaced after Diggs appeared not to spend Christmas with Cardi and their son. However, Cardi later attended the Patriots’ game against the New York Jets to support him, and the pair appeared coordinated in vintage Chanel outfits, suggesting they remain united.
