Govt Spends Over Rs. 67 Crore on Salaries and Perks for Cabinet

The federal government has spent more than Rs. 67 crore on salaries and allowances for cabinet members during the მიმდინარე fiscal year, according to official data.

The figures include payments to federal ministers, ministers of state, advisers, and special assistants.

Data reveals that cabinet members have received approximately Rs. 407.216 million in salaries so far this fiscal year.

In addition, over Rs. 266.4 million has been spent on the use, maintenance, and fuel of more than 100 vehicles assigned to ministers, advisers, and special assistants.

This brings the total expenditure to Rs. 673.616 million to date.

For the current financial year, the government has allocated a total of Rs. 688.727 million for cabinet-related expenses, covering salaries as well as operational costs.

The disclosure comes at a time when public scrutiny of government spending remains high, particularly amid economic challenges and rising living costs.

Officials maintain that the expenditures fall within the approved budgetary limits set for the fiscal year.
