Deadline for Approved Number Plates Extended in Karachi
Karachi Police have extended the deadline for installing government approved number plates on vehicles, giving motorists additional time until April 1 to meet requirements.
A police spokesperson said the extension was granted to facilitate the public and ensure maximum compliance with regulations requiring vehicles to display officially approved plates.
Authorities confirmed that a strict enforcement campaign will begin after April 1, targeting vehicles displaying fancy or unauthorised number plates across Karachi with legal action.
Officials stated that drivers operating vehicles without valid driving licences will also face action during the campaign aimed at strengthening enforcement of traffic laws.
The measures are intended to improve road discipline, assist vehicle identification, and enhance overall traffic regulation across the city through consistent implementation of existing legal requirements.
The spokesperson urged vehicle owners to ensure compliance within the revised deadline, warning that strict checks and penalties will be applied across Karachi after April 1.
