Kanye West features Michael Jackson impersonator in ‘Father’ video with Travis Scott

The release forms part of West’s broader return to music following a period of public controversy

A new music video release by Kanye West has drawn attention for its use of a Michael Jackson impersonator, adding a notable visual element to his latest project.

Taken from his album Bully, the music video for the song directed by West’s wife Bianca Censori, features a performance by Travis Scott and includes Fabio Jackson, a recognised lookalike of Michael Jackson. The impersonator appears subtly within the video, which presents a stylised narrative set in a church environment.

In the video, West is shown seated among a congregation before the sequence develops into a surreal storyline in which his character is revealed to be an alien figure. The inclusion of a Jackson lookalike aligns with West’s long-standing references to the late singer throughout his music career.

Online reactions to the video have been mixed, with viewers commenting on the creative decision to incorporate an impersonator. Some social media users referenced earlier lyrics from West’s catalogue, while others noted the unusual nature of the visual concept.

The release forms part of West’s broader return to music following a period of public controversy. In a recent letter, he addressed past behaviour and personal struggles, writing, “I lost touch with reality. Things got worse the longer I ignored the problem. I said and did things I deeply regret.”

He also outlined efforts to refocus on his work and wellbeing. “As I find my new baseline and new center through an effective regime of medication, therapy, exercise, and clean living, I have newfound, much-needed clarity,” he said.

West added that he aims to rebuild trust over time, stating he hopes to “earn your forgiveness” rather than expect immediate acceptance.

The release of Bully marks a continuation of his musical output, with “Father” serving as one of the latest visual projects accompanying the album.
