Tributes paid to renowned singer Naseem Begum



ISLAMABAD  –  Celebrated playback singer Naseem Begum was remembered on her 55th death anniversary on Tuesday. Born in Amritsar in 1936, Naseem Begum made a lasting mark on the Pakistani film industry with her soulful voice and sang hundreds of songs in Urdu and Punjabi. During the 1965 war, she was among the singers who performed patriotic songs. Her famous patriotic song, “Aye Raah-e-Haq Ke Shaheedo,” earned particular recognition for boosting the morale of the nation during the war. Naseem Begum died in Lahore on September 29, 1971, leaving behind a rich musical legacy that continues to be remembered by music enthusiasts.
