Tributes paid to legendary singer Nayyara Noor



ISLAMABAD  –  The fourth death anniversary of iconic Pakistani playback singer Nayyara Noor, popularly known as the “Bulbul-e-Pakistan,” was observed on Thursday. Born in 1950, Nayyara Noor was one of Pakistan’s top playback singers. She sang numerous film songs, Ghazals and patriotic songs. Her famous songs include ‘Watan Ki Mitti Gawah Rehna’, ‘Aye Jazba-e-Dil Gar Mein Chahun’,  ‘Roothay Ho Tum’, and ‘Kabhi Hum Bhi Khoobsurat Thay’.  In recognition of her contribution to the arts, she was awarded the Presidential Pride of Performance Award in 2006.  Her mesmerizing voice continues to hold a special place in the hearts of music lovers. She passed away in Karachi on August 20, 2022.
