Marc Jacobs says he would style ‘trendsetter’ Luigi Mangione for court

Mangione is accused in the December 2024 killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson

Fashion designer Marc Jacobs has said he would be willing to style Luigi Mangione for his upcoming court appearances.

Jacobs made the comments during an August 2026 appearance on Variety’s “Lie Detector Test” series.

The interviewer referenced the designer’s history of high-profile courtroom clients, including Winona Ryder, Lil’ Kim and Courtney Love, before asking whether he would consider dressing Mangione for his trial.

Jacobs responded with a simple “yes”, indicating that he would be open to working with the high-profile defendant.

Mangione is accused in the December 2024 killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson and is due to face court proceedings.

However, Jacobs suggested Mangione may not necessarily require a fashion makeover.

The designer acknowledged that Mangione had already attracted attention for his appearance while in custody and agreed that he was a “trendsetter”.

Mangione’s clothing has previously generated significant interest online.

A maroon sweater he wore during a court hearing became particularly notable after fans sought out similar versions of the garment.

The discussion highlights the unusual intersection of fashion and the intense public attention surrounding Mangione’s case.

His court appearances have attracted widespread scrutiny, with his clothing becoming part of the broader online conversation.

Jacobs is known for his influential work in American fashion and has previously dressed several celebrities involved in high-profile legal proceedings.
