Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Design and Key Specs Revealed
A fresh leak has revealed more details about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8. The latest information comes from a well-known tipster and highlights the phone’s display, cameras, chipset, battery, and design.
Earlier reports suggested that the Galaxy Z Fold8 will not directly replace last year’s Galaxy Z Fold7. Instead, Samsung is expected to position the Fold8 as the device previously rumored as the “Galaxy Fold Wide.” Meanwhile, the true successor to the Galaxy Z Fold7 will reportedly launch as the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. Reports claim Samsung changed its naming strategy in May.
According to the latest leak, the Galaxy Z Fold8 will feature a 7.6-inch main display with a 4:3 aspect ratio and QHD+ resolution. In addition, the cover display will measure 5.5 inches. It will also offer QHD+ resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio.
The rear camera setup appears more modest than expected. It will reportedly include a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a 50MP ultrawide camera with an f/1.9 aperture. Samsung is also expected to use a 10MP selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture on both the main and cover displays.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 will likely run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset. The phone is expected to offer up to 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. The device will reportedly pack a 4,800mAh battery. It is also expected to support 45W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging.
The leak also reveals the phone’s dimensions. When folded, it will measure 123.9 x 81.9 x 9.7mm. When unfolded, it will measure 123.9 x 161.4 x 4.5mm. These measurements suggest the phone will be thicker than the Galaxy Z Fold7 in both positions. However, it will weigh only 201g, making it noticeably lighter.
Most of these specifications have already appeared in earlier reports. As a result, the latest leak adds more confidence to previous information. Samsung is expected to officially unveil the Galaxy Z Fold8 series in July.
