Courtney Stodden slams Dr. Drew after ‘disturbing’ 2011 ultrasound segment clip resurfaces

Stodden reflected on an episode of Dr. Drew’s show, recorded shortly after marrying actor Doug Hutchison in 2011

Courtney Stodden has spoken out after a 2011 television appearance resurfaced online, reigniting criticism of how the reality star was treated as a teenager in the public eye.

Stodden reflected on an episode of Dr. Drew’s Lifechangers, recorded shortly after marrying actor Doug Hutchison in 2011.

During the programme, Stodden, then 17, underwent an on-air breast examination before a live studio audience in response to speculation over whether their breasts were natural.

Sharing the clip on Instagram, Stodden said revisiting the footage brought back painful memories and questioned why the segment was allowed to take place.

“Dr. Drew had me on his show when I was 16 and had me undergo an ultrasound to see if my breasts were real or if I was lying about my breasts,” Stodden wrote. “I wasn’t an underage girl. I was a minor trapped in a situation that I wasn’t able to get out of legally. I had no rights at the time.”

Stodden also claimed that the fee for appearing on the programme was paid directly to Hutchison.

“The money he paid me to be on the show went straight to my abuser. These photos bring up a lot of sadness for me because I see a little girl being exploited by grown men and used for views and mockery.”

Stodden then addressed television personality Dr. Drew directly, writing, “Dr. Drew, what made you think this was a good idea? As a doctor, did you think this was actually healthy for a little girl to experience? Did you even care?”

The resurfaced footage prompted a strong reaction across social media, with many users questioning the ethics of the broadcast. One commenter wrote, “How did we ever live in a world where this was ok?” while another described the segment as “so disturbing” and “wildly inappropriate.”

On Reddit, one widely shared response read, “Everyone failed this girl. Every single fucking person.” Another user commented, “God, the look of complete disassociation on this poor child. I fucking hate that every adult in her life failed her, but I’m so glad she’s telling her truth.”
