Nicki Minaj reacts after missing White House Correspondents’ Dinner amid shooting incident

The rapper had reportedly been invited but was running late and did not arrive before the incident occurred

Nicki Minaj has responded after narrowly missing a reported shooting incident at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, DC.

The rapper had reportedly been invited to attend the high-profile event held at the Hilton Hotel on Saturday, April 25, but was running late and did not arrive before the incident occurred.

Social media reports indicated that the situation unfolded while guests were already inside the venue.

Following news of the disruption, Minaj shared a video on TikTok from inside a car shortly after the reports emerged. The post featured minimal commentary, accompanied only by a United States flag emoji and a prayer hands emoji.

The incident reportedly involved a suspected gunman who allegedly opened fire near a security checkpoint outside the ballroom. Secret Service agents moved swiftly to escort Donald Trump and other officials away from the area as a precaution.

Authorities later identified a suspect as a 31-year-old man named Cole Allen. He was reportedly detained at the scene and is facing charges including the use of a firearm during a violent crime and assault on a federal officer with a dangerous weapon.

Additional charges may follow pending further legal proceedings.

The event, an annual gathering of media and political figures, was reportedly disrupted as a result of the incident, with plans expected to be rescheduled.

Minaj has recently been involved in public discussions surrounding her political views and public appearances.
