Bitcoin Nears $80,000 as Institutional Buyers Fuel Structural Rally
Large institutional investors are driving Bitcoin toward the $80,000 mark, a level the cryptocurrency has not reached since early January this year.
Corporate buyers and investment funds are leading this rally, replacing retail traders who previously drove most of the major price movements of Bitcoin upward.
Strategy Inc, one of the most aggressive corporate holders of Bitcoin, has consistently added to its reserves throughout recent weeks of trading.
Bitcoin exchange-traded funds have also recorded renewed inflows after a volatile period, tightening available supply and adding further support to the price.
Many traders who had bet against Bitcoin were forced to close their positions as the price pushed higher toward the $80,000 threshold.
This squeeze of short positions has amplified the upward move, reinforcing the view that structural factors, not sentiment, are shaping this rally.
Bitcoin has previously struggled to sustain prices above $75,000, and elevated volatility is widely expected to continue across cryptocurrency markets.
Some traders have described the current move as a gradual structural shift, though the $80,000 level has yet to be confirmed as a stable floor.
