Govt Raises Petrol and Diesel Prices by Rs26.77
The federal government has increased the price of petrol and high-speed diesel by Rs26.77 per litre, effective from midnight on Friday night.
According to the details, petrol now costs Rs393.35 per litre, while high-speed diesel has been set at Rs380.19 per litre under the latest revision.
| Fuel Type | Previous Price | New Price | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Petrol | Rs 366.58 | Rs 393.35 | + Rs 26.77 |
| High‑Speed Diesel | Rs 353.42 | Rs 380.19 | + Rs 26.77 |
The Petroleum Division issued an official notification confirming the revised prices in the petroleum products, which apply for the week beginning April 25.
The government has adopted a weekly fuel pricing mechanism on Friday nights, a policy introduced after the US-Israeli military campaign against Iran began on February 28.
That US-Iran conflict triggered a global fuel shortage after the Strait of Hormuz was closed, cutting off a waterway that carries one-fifth of the oil and gas supply in the world.
The weekly revision policy remains in place, though the US-Israeli war on Iran has since been paused, according to the Petroleum Division press release.
