Madonna and Geena Davis have a ‘League of Their Own’ reunion backstage at Coachella

Madonna and Geena Davis reunited at Coachella 2026, revisiting their A League of Their Own characters during a backstage moment following surprise appearances.

Davis shared an image on Instagram on April 22 showing the pair together in costume after appearing during Sabrina Carpenter’s set on April 17. Referencing their roles from the 1992 film, she captioned the post, “Mae – so happy to see you again! Love, Dottie.”

The actresses originally portrayed Dorothy “Dottie” Hinson and Mae Mordabito in Penny Marshall’s sports comedy, which was based on the real-life Rockford Peaches, part of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League formed during the 1940s.

During the festival performance, Davis appeared first, taking on the role of an older version of Carpenter, referred to as “Aunt Sabrina”, and delivered a monologue mid-set. She stepped into the role previously performed by Susan Sarandon during the prior weekend.

As the performance concluded, Madonna joined Carpenter on stage. The pair performed a duet that included Madonna’s songs “Vogue” and “Like a Prayer”, before debuting a track believed to be from her upcoming project, a follow-up to her 2005 album Confessions on a Dancefloor.

Days after the performance, Madonna reflected on the appearance in an Instagram post, writing, “still flying high since Friday night at Coachella!” She added, “Thank you to Sabrina and everyone who made it possible To Bring Confessions II back to where it began -was such a thrill!”.

The reunion marks more than three decades since the film’s release and highlights the continued cultural relevance of the project and its cast.
