Haylie Duff and Matt Rosenberg separate after 12-year engagement
The pair had been engaged since April 2014, when the entrepreneur proposed on April Fools’ Day
Haylie Duff and her former fiancé Matt Rosenberg have ended their relationship after more than a decade together, according to a report by Page Six.
A representative for Duff confirmed the news to the outlet on Monday, stating that the couple “ended their relationship around the first of the year”. The statement added, “She asks for privacy at this time in protection of her young daughters.”
The pair share two daughters, Ryan Ava Erhard, 10, and Lulu Gray, 7. Duff and Rosenberg had been engaged since April 2014, when the entrepreneur proposed on April Fools’ Day.
Despite their long engagement, the couple had not formalised their relationship in marriage.
In a previous interview in May 2021, Duff spoke candidly about their dynamic, noting that their eldest daughter had begun asking about their wedding plans. “We feel married in a lot of ways. I mean, we couldn’t be more married if we tried,” she said at the time. “We’ve got two kids and couldn’t be more married if we tried, but I think both of us envisioned doing it in Texas, and so now that we’re here, the conversations are happening a little more often than they were before.”
The actress also explained that their original wedding plans shifted after discovering she was pregnant with their first child.
The separation follows recent public attention on Duff’s family, after her sister Hilary Duff referenced their strained relationship in her January song “We Don’t Talk”.
