Lahore Qalandars have confirmed the signing of Sri Lankan batter Charith Asalanka as replacement for injured Parvez Hossain Emon for Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026.

The franchise announced that Asalanka will join immediately, ensuring his availability for Lahore Qalandars during the ongoing Pakistan Super League season eleven.

The decision secures squad depth for Lahore Qalandars, with Asalanka expected to feature in upcoming fixtures following confirmation of his registration by tournament authorities.

Parvez Hossain Emon was ruled out following an injury sustained in the rain‑shortened match against Multan Sultans played recently in Lahore.

Captain Shaheen Shah Afridi confirmed the absence of Emon has unsettled batting balance, adding to multiple injury setbacks already suffered by the defending champions.

The star batter had been in strong form for Lahore, scoring 45 off 19 balls in their rain-curtailed win against Multan Sultans on April 3 at Gaddafi Stadium.

The left-handed batter had partnered Mohammad Naeem in an 86-run opening stand that powered Lahore to a record-breaking score of 185 in just 13 overs.

Shaheen Afridi acknowledged after the loss to Islamabad United that the balance his squad had been directly affected by Emon’s injury setback.

Charith Asalanka has played 76 T20I matches for Sri Lanka, scoring 1,456 runs from 74 innings with a highest score of 80 not out.

He averages 22.40 with a strike rate of 125.95, registering six fifties, 99 fours, and 68 sixes across his international T20 career.
