GCU exhibits creative works of 30 intermediate students at annual art show
LAHORE – From Islamic calligraphy to digital design and 3D sculptures, a wide variety of artwork by 30 young artists was put on display at Government College University (GCU) on Thursday for its Annual Art Exhibition 2026. Organised by the Aslam Minhas Fine Arts Society at the university’s Salaam Hall, the event provided a platform for first- and second-year FA Fine Arts students to present their work to the public.
exhibition was formally inaugurated by GCU Registrar Dr Shaukat Ali. Director Intermediate Siddique Awan and Lecturer of the Fine Arts Department Ali Raza Peerzada were also present on the occasion, alongside a large number of faculty members, students, and art enthusiasts. Demonstrating their technical skills and artistic vision, the students presented pieces across a wide array of mediums. Along with traditional painting, drawing, and pencil work, the exhibition also featured photography, textile and graphic design, ceramics, and material art. Visitors and faculty members commended the high standard of the exhibits, noting that each piece reflected the students’ hard work and originality. Organisers stated that the annual exhibition serves as a testament to GCU’s ongoing commitment to nurturing youth talent and promoting the arts within the academic community.
