Karachi Kings reached 129 for six with three balls remaining despite early setbacks, successfully completing the chase on a difficult surface against defending champions.

Meanwhile, Karachi Kings pacer Hasan Ali was fined 10 percent of his match fee after admitting a Level 1 offence under the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) code of conduct rules.

The fast bowler breached Article 2.5 relating to using language or gestures that could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter following dismissal during the match.

The incident occurred on the final ball of the 19th over when the right-arm pacer dismissed Haseebullah Khan and reacted in a manner deemed inappropriate by officials.

Earlier, Lahore Qalandars scored 128 for nine after choosing to bat first, with Abdullah Shafique top scoring while Haseebullah Khan and Sikandar Raza added runs.

Karachi Kings lost captain David Warner and Salman Ali Agha early, but Muhammad Waseem steadied the innings through partnerships with Saad Baig and Moeen Ali later.

Waseem scored 38 runs before being dismissed, while Moeen Ali contributed 18, leaving Karachi needing further runs before a decisive partnership changed momentum late on.

Khushdil Shah and Azam Khan added 32 runs for the sixth wicket, reducing the target before a penalty altered the final over equation significantly there.

Umpires awarded Karachi Kings five penalty runs for ball tampering, lowering the requirement to nine runs in the last over, where Abbas Afridi sealed victory comfortably.

Separately, Lahore Qalandars opening batter Fakhar Zaman was charged with a Level 3 offence for allegedly breaching rules related to changing the condition of the ball during.

The left-handed batter denied the allegation during a hearing conducted by match referee Roshan Mahanama, with a further hearing scheduled within 48 hours before a final decision.

The incident occurred late in the match when umpires inspected the ball and ruled its condition had changed, resulting in a penalty against Lahore Qalandars.
