Megan Thee Stallion shares first look as Zidler in ‘Moulin Rouge’ preview

The rapper is set to make her Broadway debut as Zidler in ‘Moulin Rouge! The Musical’ from March 24 to May 17

Megan Thee Stallion has shared a first look at her role in Moulin Rouge! The Musical, offering audiences an early preview of her upcoming Broadway debut.

The rapper posted a promotional video on March 23, appearing in costume as Harold Zidler, the owner of the fictional Moulin Rouge club. Wearing a top hat, red coat and holding a cane, she introduced her interpretation of the character with a performance that marks a gender-swapped casting. She will become the first woman to take on the role in the production.

“Thee Moulin Rouge is a STATE. OF. MIND,” she wrote alongside the video. In the clip, she declares: “No matter your sin, you’re welcome here. No matter your desire, you’re welcome here. For this is more than a nightclub, the Moulin Rouge is a state of mind.”

Megan is scheduled to appear in the show from March 24 to May 17. Ahead of opening night, she also shared behind-the-scenes footage of her preparation process, including rehearsals, costume fittings and sessions with a dialect coach as she adapts to the demands of theatre performance.

“Theatre is definitely a new opportunity that I’m excited to embrace,” she said previously. “Stepping onto the Broadway stage and joining the Moulin Rouge! The Musical team is an absolute honor.”

“I’ve always believed in pushing myself creatively, and theatre is definitely a new opportunity that I’m excited to embrace. Broadway demands a different level of discipline, preparation, and storytelling, but I’m up for the challenge and can’t wait for the Hotties to see a new side of me.”
