LAHORE  –  The Lahore Arts Council (Alhamra) has started implementing the Punjab government’s Energy Conservation Policy, taking practical steps to reduce energy consumption in line with official directives. According to a spokesperson, the institution has initiated measures to ensure strict compliance with the government’s energy-saving initiatives. Under the policy, office operations at Alhamra are currently being conducted with 50 percent staff attendance, while steps have also been taken to significantly reduce fuel consumption. Executive Director Lahore Arts Council Muhammad Nawaz Gondal said that Alhamra has reduced its fuel usage by 50 percent in accordance with the government’s instructions. He added that the institution is fully complying with the notification issued by the Government of Punjab and is implementing all required measures. He emphasised that energy conservation is a collective national responsibility, adding that institutions must play their role in supporting initiatives aimed at sustainable resource management. The spokesperson said that the official notification regarding the implementation of the energy conservation policy at Alhamra was issued on March 10, after which immediate steps were taken to enforce the policy across the institution.
