BLACKPINK’s Jennie faces backlash after tense autograph encounter in Paris during Fashion Week

In videos online, Jennie pauses to sign some items but appears visibly frustrated by people requesting autographs

Videos showing BLACKPINK member Jennie interacting with people requesting autographs in Paris have sparked debate online, with some viewers criticising the K-pop star’s behaviour while others argue she may have been dealing with persistent resellers rather than fans.

The footage, recorded on March 8 near Place Vendôme, shows Jennie walking through the area during Paris Fashion Week, where she had travelled to attend Chanel’s Fall/Winter 2026 presentation. The singer, who is also a global ambassador for the fashion house, was approached by several individuals carrying stacks of photocards and albums.

In the video, Jennie pauses to sign some items but appears visibly frustrated by the situation. At one point she says, “Can I please have my day? It’s gonna be very stressful for me.”

Some viewers interpreted her expressions and tone during the interaction as dismissive. Clips shared on social media drew criticism from certain users,

However, other observers suggested the individuals approaching Jennie may have been resellers carrying large quantities of merchandise rather than typical fans seeking a single autograph. The practice of collecting celebrity signatures for resale is common during major entertainment events such as fashion weeks.

One social media user defending Jennie wrote, “These aren’t fans. They’re resellers who stalk her whenever she’s in Paris. I’m glad she finally stood up for herself and told them directly to leave her alone. Artists are human too. they’re not tools for people to profit from.”

The incident has divided online audiences, with debate continuing over whether the encounter reflected fan frustration or a response to persistent commercial requests. Jennie has not publicly commented on the videos circulating online.
