Section 144 Imposed in Islamabad to Ban Public Gatherings and Drones

The district administration of Islamabad has imposed Section 144 across the federal capital, warning of strict action against any violations, according to reports by 24NewsHD TV.

Under the order, any form of public gathering, rally, or protest will be considered illegal. Authorities have urged residents to avoid assembling at public points to ensure compliance with the law.

The administration emphasized that any calls for protests or rallies will be dealt with strictly, signaling zero tolerance for violations.

This comes shortly after a ban on flying drones, phantoms, and camcopters in Islamabad, which was announced on February 27, 2026. The District Magistrate of Islamabad issued a notification under Section 144, prohibiting the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) without prior official permission in both Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

The notification clarified that only law enforcement agencies and the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration are exempted from the ban. All private individuals or entities are required to obtain authorization before operating drones or similar aerial devices.

Authorities stressed that the measures are being enforced to maintain law and order in the federal capital.
