Former Nickelodeon actor Tylor Chase has been found living on the streets again after being released from an involuntary psychiatric hold in Riverside, California.

Chase is best known for playing Martin Qwerly on Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide and has been the focus of growing concern after recent videos showed him experiencing homelessness.

According to recent updates, Chase was placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold, commonly known as a 5150 hold, on December 26, 2025, after being spotted in a dishevelled state. The hold was intended to assess whether he posed a danger to himself or others. By December 29, he had been released and returned to the streets.

Influencer and barber Jacob Harris, who has been documenting efforts to help Chase, said the actor briefly stabilised during the hold. Harris stated that Chase got “clean, detoxed, physically clean” but left after around 36 hours without notice to advocates. He added that police and crisis teams regularly offer shelter and treatment, but Chase often refuses.

Riverside Police have acknowledged the legal limitations they face. Spokesperson Ryan Railsback explained that unless a person is deemed gravely disabled or an immediate threat, they cannot be forced into treatment. Homelessness alone does not meet that threshold, and Chase reportedly “politely declines” assistance when approached.

Friends and former co-stars have continued to rally around him. Daniel Curtis Lee, who starred alongside Chase as Cookie, has been actively trying to secure housing and support.
