Michelle and Barack Obama share Christmas message with elegant holiday photo

The former US president and first lady embrace in new photo as they send their seasonal wishes

Michelle Obama shared a festive message with her followers on Christmas Day, posting a photograph of herself alongside her husband, former US President Barack Obama, to mark the holiday season.

The image, shared on Instagram, showed the couple standing close together and smiling as they sent their seasonal wishes. Michelle wore a black lace dress featuring intricate crocheted detailing across the bodice, paired with a long-sleeved bolero-style wrap. Her hair was styled in fine micro braids with a centre part. Barack complemented her look in an all-black outfit finished with a tan bomber jacket.

Alongside the image, Michelle wrote, “Merry Christmas! Barack and I send you our heartfelt wishes for a blessed holiday and joyful start to the new year.” The post quickly gained widespread attention, receiving more than a million likes within hours and drawing thousands of comments from admirers.

Many followers praised the former First Lady’s appearance, with comments highlighting her dress and overall style. Others focused on the warmth of their message.

Michelle Obama has long been recognised for her fashion choices, both during and after her time in the White House.

Earlier this year, she released a book titled The Look, which reflects on her relationship with fashion, hair and beauty throughout her life and public career.
