KARACHI:

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday announced the completion of three landmark projects in partnership with Kuwait’s EnerTech Holding Company, representing investments worth over $740 million.

At a ceremony held at the CM House, Shah said the province had crossed “historic milestones” under its public-private partnership (PPP) framework.

These projects include the Nabisar-Vajihar water supply scheme worth $215 million, ensuring sustainable water for Thar coal power plants and enabling 1,650MW generation, the NED Science and Technology Park, Pakistan’s first university-led tech park under PPP, with an estimated cost of $125 million to promote research, startups, and industry-academia collaboration and TP-4 wastewater treatment project in Karachi, a $400 million initiative to provide treated industrial-grade water and address a longstanding gap in urban waste management.

The CM said these projects reflect Sindh’s commitment to infrastructure, energy security, innovation, and environmental sustainability.

Shah noted that despite inflation and global economic pressures, the Nabisar-Vajihar project was completed on time, saving Rs7 billion. He praised EnerTech CEO Abdullah Al-Mutairi for delivering on schedule and lauded DIG Sukkur, DIG Larkana, and other officials for their role in PPP achievements.

Al-Mutairi, speaking at the event, said Sindh’s PPP framework had proven its ability to deliver complex infrastructure projects. He called the Thar water supply a “game changer” for energy and industrial growth.
