Stage drama ‘Patto Ponde-Poe’ presented at Arts Council Larkano
LARKANA – The tenth stage drama ‘Patto Ponde-Poe’ was presented at Arts Council of Pakistan Larkana on Sunday as part of the ongoing drama festival, which received great appreciation from the audience. The writer of the drama was Muhammad Siddique Sagar and the director was Mithal Gachal. In the drama, renowned actors Apa Nasreen Naz, Ahmed Pathan, Seema Chandio, Anwar Mugheri, and Faqir Ijaz Chandio received full applause from the viewers for their brilliant performances. The story of the drama revolves around an educated but unemployed youth who, due to not getting a job, has become a cause of debt for his father. The father repeatedly advises his son to take up employment, but the youth ignores this and, using his father’s name, borrows money from relatives to live a life of luxury with friends. Complaints about this also reach the father. The story takes a significant turn when the youth’s maternal uncle comes to his sister’s house and refuses to offer his daughter’s hand in marriage. Unable to bear this shock, the youth’s father passes away. After the father’s death, the mother is forced to do domestic work in various homes to run the household, upon which the youth, moved by a sense of honor, stops his mother from working and starts doing hard labor himself. With time, the family’s financial situation improves, after which the maternal uncle, reconsidering his decision, not only offers his daughter’s hand in marriage but also makes his nephew a partner in his business. Social issues, unemployment, and the importance of responsibility were effectively highlighted in the drama, for which the present audience gave a standing ovation and applauded the artists. Meanwhile, guests attending the event, including SSP Syed Attaullah Shah from Balochistan, DSP Shabir Abbasi, Mureed Hussain Khakrani, Ali Akbar Patujo, and Ghulam Sarwar Khoso, were presented with gifts of Ajrak and caps by the President of the Arts Council of Pakistan Larkana, Muhammad Ismail Jatoi, and Director Mithal Gachal.
On this occasion, Press and Publicity Chairman Syed Javed Shah, Chairman Photographer Nadeem Akhtar Soomro, Drama Chairman Ali Roshan Sheikh, Qadir Domki, Nasir Khuhawar, Aashiq Dayo, Badar Soomro, Saeed ur Rahman Noonari, Muhammad Ali Thehim, along with other esteemed guests and a large number of enthusiasts were present.
