India reportedly restricts Pakistani dramas on Netflix
India has quietly started blocking Pakistani dramas on Netflix, following a surge in the popularity of Pakistani content among viewers in India.
According to actor-singer Farhan Saeed, the move reflects concern over the growing influence of Pakistani dramas, which have been increasingly watched by younger audiences in both countries.
He argued that this trend should motivate Pakistan’s entertainment industry to push harder for global visibility — especially by creating content aimed at streaming platforms.
For years, Pakistani dramas have won acclaim in India, with many Indian actors and producers praising their storytelling, production quality, and emotional depth — a popularity that now seems to be driving the new restrictions.
